Valerie Chela N. Founder of Memoirs of a Kenyan.
I am generally not a fan of pets but dogs terrify me. My idea of a pet would be any animal that can be caged safely away from me. I could probably live with a pet fish, I think.
I was working at a gas station (yes, you heard me) and this really gorgeous guy I met for literally two minutes about three days before came to the store really early in the morning, apparently to bring me some coffee and donuts. I thought that was so cute because we barely knew each other so he had to figure out my schedule. He also had no clue as to how I like my coffee. It took me a couple of seconds to realise what was going on. The whole time he stood there awkwardly waiting for me to react.
I wanted to have a medium to connect with like-minded people, people who also love to write, read and make friends.
I dream of the day that Memoirs of a Kenyan will not only be a blog but a website where people from all walks of life can find inspiration, entertainment and socialize. My goal is to touch the lives of as many people as I possibly can in my lifetime.
I love the summer heat. I intend to spend as much of the summer as possible taking in all the heat I can manage. I want to go to the beach and maybe drive out of the city a few weekends here and there. I love to travel and road trips are a big thing for me. No camping though if I can help it, I prefer to wind down in an actual bed at the end of the day.
My life’s motto is to include a little fun in everything I do. Planning to go out and have some fun never really works out for me. Life always seems to get in the way of that. So, I learnt that ‘dancing in the rain’ is the way to go, which I talked about in an earlier article.
